After breaking ground in 2020, the project faced unexpected challenges and delays, but the dream of a new chapel at Cedar Ridge Camp never faded. Through the years, we watched the building slowly take shape, one step at a time.

Calvin Chapel

Walls Going Up!
March 9, 2021
Cement was poured, set and the forms were removed on March 18th.

Columns Installed
On November 23, 2021, the installation of the columns is underway to allow for the pouring of the chapel's floor. This will also finalize the basement, enabling it to serve as an emergency storm shelter and storage for the camp. After the cement is poured, the ground can be backfilled, and construction on the front half of the chapel can commence.
Stem Walls
Stem walls are being constructed for the main entrance of the chapel as of August 12, 2021.
Spring-Summer 2023
Significant progress has been achieved during the spring and summer of 2023. The chapel's cement floor has been poured, along with the walls and entryway.
Framing for the walls and roof/ceiling panels has been completed.
Electrical and plumbing work is currently underway. Once this is finished and passes inspection, we can insulation and drywall installation.
2026
A Dream Come to Life
We are so excited to announce that Calvin Chapel is complete!
We broke ground on our new chapel in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic made progress challenging and slowed the project far more than we ever anticipated. After years of hard work, patience, and planning, we are thrilled to finally see the finished space being used and enjoyed.
This year, Calvin Chapel has already become an important part of life at Cedar Ridge Camp. We have hosted several weddings and special events, held Bible studies, and welcomed our day campers inside for shelter on rainy days. When a tornado warning came through in the middle of the night, the basement also provided a safe place for our overnight campers and staff to gather.
It has been incredible to watch this dream become a space that serves our camp community in so many different ways.
It has been such a fantastic year at Cedar Ridge Camp, and we are so excited for all the memories, celebrations, and meaningful moments still to come in Calvin Chapel!
